Meta has launched its new social media network Threads, aiming to challenge Twitter under billionaire owner Elon Musk. Threads went live on Apple and Android app stores at 23:00 GMT (4:30 am IST). Celebrities including Shakira and Jack Black and media outlets such as The Hollywood Reporter, Vice and Netflix already have active accounts on the platform.
